Dont let the bikini cad girl on the cover confuse you, this book is not a stupid novel about surfer boys living in the Orange County. This book is much deeper than that. I don’t know who chose this cover, but it is quite deceiving I would never have picked up this book if my friend hadn’t insisted that it was actually really good.
It’s about this guy and his family and how they always go to their beach house on the ocean. Of course, there are the next door neighbors, that always come up too, and the kids of both families basically grew up together. The book takes place over four summers.
It made me nostalgic, then it confused me, then it made me go, wtf, then it made me sad and then it made me philosophical. It’s really much deeper than the cover.
The only bad thing about the book is that the events in it seem highly far fetched or maybe that’s just because i live a painfully basic life. Some parts of it seem ridiculously unlikely to happen in real life though, the parts about his provocative twelve year old sister, and other parts that i can’t say cuz it will give away a huge part of the plot line.
Otherwise it was really good, quick read and i suggest you all should read it :)
